Katz Articles

This morning, Katz Dalsey’s 4th graders were celebrated as they walked the hallways one last time, marking the end of their elementary school journey.

Parents looked on with tears of joy and pride as their children made their way to the stage for their awards ceremony, celebrating this important milestone in their academic lives.

Mrs. Conway opened the ceremony with welcoming remarks before teachers took over to introduce their classes and recognize students for their hard work, growth, and achievements throughout the school year.

There were several award categories presented, including Principal’s List, Perfect Attendance, Safety Patrol, and Performing Arts. One of the students who received multiple awards was Amaya Reyes, who earned both Principal’s List and Performing Arts recognition.

When asked if she is ready for middle school, she shared, “I am ready, but I am scared at the same time.” When asked what lessons she will take with her to Camden’s Promise next year, she added, “Katz is a very memorable school, and they taught us a lot.”

There was also a surprise speaker at the ceremony. Dr. Farmer, Principal of Camden’s Promise, shared a few remarks as many of the students prepared to transition into 5th grade, welcoming them with open arms.

Ms. Hoag, a 4th grade teacher at Katz Dalsey and Teacher of the Year, also shared her thoughts, saying, “I hope the students take friendships and pay attention, for sure.” She added, “We have a very welcoming community, so the family aspect will be important to help support their learning.”

A meaningful celebration filled with pride, memories, and smiles as Katz Dalsey’s 4th graders close one chapter and step into the next.
